The Prestige

“Are you watching closely?” If you are watching “The Prestige”, then you better be. “The Prestige” stars Christian Bale and Hugh Jackman with excellent supporting characters provided by Michael Caine and Scarlett Johansson. It was directed by the very talented Christopher Nolan (Memento, The Dark Knight). “The Prestige” is about two aspiring magicians (Bale and Jackman) who share a goal of wanting to be the best magician alive. The only problem is if one of them is the best magician in the world, then where does that leave the other? The rival magicians sabotage and destroy each other as much as possible. Consequently, it takes a huge toll on each of them. “The Prestige” is full of twists and tricks to keep you guessing until the very last second. It is rated PG-13 for some violence and disturbing images, so it might not be suitable for some of the younger viewers. However, if you can sneak away from the smaller children, then this one comes highly recommended. “The Prestige” is one of those rare movies that is actually fun to watch over and over again, because each time you do, you’ll probably catch something you missed before. Don’t just rent “The Prestige”, buy it.
